Quote of the Day: "People are uneasy about what else is out there."

That would be the quote of an unnamed GOP strategist who spoke today on condition of anonymity with the Washington Post. The topic? Today's guilty plea of infamous Washington lobbyist and soon-to-be convict Jack Abramoff.

There's no question that the possibility of exposing widespread corruption among members of Congress, especially on the GOP side of the aisle, is enormous. Abramoff is at the epicenter of the fraud and corruption scandal that federal prosecutors contend may have had numerous ties to members of Congress. And if Abramoff sings, as he most certainly has agreed to do as a condition of his guilty plea, there could be members of the House and Senate who begin to scurry about like roaches when the light comes on. It ultimately could turn eleven years of Republican domination of Capitol Hill to dust come the November elections.

Thus far, Abramoff and at least two of his associates have pleaded guilty. All of Washington now will wait with bated breath to see who goes down next. Stay tuned. This could get really ugly for the Republican Party.

Oh no no. They're not worried a bit. So said a GOP spokesmen. Nobody in the GOP's done anything wrong. This will all be cleared up in a short time and 'the truth will come out' that no Republicans broke any 'laws' whatsoever. Which may be because we don't see to have any laws for Republicans anymore.

Yes, Tom Delay's attorney said the same thing. No worries, since Mr. Delay has always comported himself with the utmost in ethical standards.

Yeah, and monkeys might fly out of my butt!
