To The Stockade with Thee!

Almost lost in the mayhem associated with Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath is the ruling today that came out of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit. The court determined that U.S. citizens can be detained indefinitely without criminal charges being levied against them.

Is this America??!! Apparently not. Not anymore, that is.

This ruling seems to take us back 250 years to a time when the King could imprison anyone he so desired without the benefit of any individual rights whatsoever. Isn't that what helped to precipitate the Revolutionary War, the Declaration of Independence and the foundation for the U.S. Constitution?

What is going on in this country?!

But to make this egregious attack on the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights even more unnerving, we also learned that the judge who wrote the court's official opinion on this decision is considered to be a leading candidate for the U.S. Supreme Court opening.

The empire is in decline - we shouldn't let the door hit us in the ass on the way out.

Lenin once said that fascism is failed capitalism. Things are pretty bad when Lenin calls it right. :(

But we've been on this road awhile haven't we?

The United States will inevitably tear itself apart at the seams - we have so many diverse people here now that can't stand one another, I'm afraid the US will go down in history as the poster child for failed multi-cultural experiments. I expect the federal government will be Brutal when it comes to self-preservation. Preservation of the System is now more important than its founding principles. Your freedoms are intangibles which will be sold and squandered by an empire in its death throes.

Expect the worst when we run out of oil ( )

( Speaking of capitalism, some ought to delete that comment #1 by the commercial spammer advertising an ONLINE CASINO as it has nothing to do with the topic. )
